Verisity's SVM Simplifies the Adoption of Proven 10X Soc Verification Processes

System Verification Methodology (sVM) Makes SoC Verification Possible for the Mainstream Engineering Community

Business Announcement -- For a more technically detailed announcement, see Verisity press release titled "Verisity Simplifies the Adoption of Proven 10x SoC Verification Processes," dated Sept 15, 2003

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 2003-- Verisity Ltd. (Nasdaq:VRST), the leading supplier of verification process automation solutions, today announced a new innovative methodology, and tightly coupled technology, that increases engineers' productivity by 10x. Verisity's System Verification Methodology (sVM(TM)) delivers specialized verification expertise to the broader engineering community and enables teams to easily embrace the methodology via pre-packed best practices. In addition, Verisity has enhanced its flagship Specman Elite(R) process automation solution with new multi-channel generation technology, as well as libraries and analyses to further simplify adoption and provide engineers with an unmatched level of automation.

In a recent survey conducted by Electronic Engineering Times, "2003 Salary and Opinion Survey," engineering managers and engineers cited SoC technology as the second most likely-technology -- out of all technologies, including streaming media, Linux, and 3G wireless -- that will see "broad usage" and had the potential to spawn a "killer" application. With sVM, Verisity is providing a complete industry-tested "out-of-the-box" solution that directly targets engineers working on SoC applications. As SoC technology continues to proliferate, electronics companies are facing verification expertise shortages within their engineering staffs. sVM addresses this expertise gap by making verification knowledge transfer possible and increases engineers' productivity by 10x.

"Verisity is clearly staking a leadership position in the verification of SoC designs with sVM," said Moshe Gavrielov, chief executive officer for Verisity. "Verisity is dedicated to delivering technology that makes our customers ten times more productive. sVM with multi-channel generation is the only solution on the market today that scales to nanometer SoC complexities, distancing Verisity further from its competition and providing new opportunities for growth."

SoC-level Automation

A supporting element of sVM is innovative, new technology that automates the generation of realistic system-level scenarios to test complex SoCs. Called multi-channel generation, this unique technology enables a step function in verification automation at the SoC and system levels. Using multi-channel generation, Verisity's leading-edge customers have experienced more than a 10x increase in the automation power applied at the SoC and system level. With Verisity's multi-channel technology, it now takes one-tenth the time to compose and deploy SoC-level verification environments.

"Verisity partnered closely with our high-end customers, and together, we created a methodology that can be easily adopted by the broader engineering community," said Steve Glaser, vice president of Corporate Marketing and Business Development for Verisity. "sVM combines new technology, libraries, analyses and methodologies with language to tackle the largest bottleneck and highest source of risk in chip design today."

Pricing and Availability

All technology enhancements and sVM will be available with the full release of Specman Elite v4.3 scheduled for October 2003 and will be provided at no charge to Specman Elite customers.
